Silas Greening

My name is Silas Greening, and I’m proud to call Pike County home. While I didn’t grow up here from day one, I did a lot of growing up when I got here. Both sides of my family are originally from this area, and I’ve had strong ties to the community for as long as I can remember. This deep connection to the area and its people has shaped who I am and fuels my passion for helping others put down roots here as well.

I graduated from Pittsfield High School in 2011 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University in 2015. Aside from my civilian life, I’ve served 14 years (and counting) in the Illinois Army National Guard—a commitment that has instilled in me the values of discipline, integrity, and dependability. I plan to continue my service as long as they let me.

Real estate, especially recreational property, has always been close to my heart. Throughout my life, my family has purchased and improved multiple properties, giving me firsthand experience and a true appreciation for the potential in every piece of land. My Mom taught me how to identify a tree and my Dad taught me how to cut one down. It was a good balance to grow up with. As a lifelong hunter and trapper, I understand the value of land—not just financially, but as a source of adventure, tradition, and connection to nature. I’ve also spent the past six years working as a whitetail deer and turkey guide in our area, giving me even more insight into the land, wildlife patterns, and what makes a property truly special for us sportsmen. I’m deeply committed to conservation and wildlife habitat improvement and I know what it takes to find land that supports both recreation and stewardship.

Outside of work and service, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife—my high school sweetheart —and our four wonderful children. I am truly excited to be raising my children in such a beautiful part of our great nation.
